Coromondel Coast of Bay of Bengal - Madras (Chennai - Weekend Trip)

It was Friday (6th May, 2011) evening, went to my friends house for a dinner party. Return home around 11.30 pm and my wife and me were thinking that shall we go somewhere this weekend. Its being long that we have not been anywhere. But to go some place we need the reason for that and we do not have any reason to visit someplace other than weekend gateways.
The next morning (7th May 2011) with the sunlight our mind also got opened up. We had a reason to visit Chennai in such a warm whether. The reason was my sister-in-law- was competing for Junior Chess Championship in Chennai. They have came all along from Bhubaneswar. We thought lets go there and book the room in their hotel and spend some time with them. So it is decided now (but its already 9.30 am). Anyways, we started cooking the food for my daughter, packed the milk. Her stuff was ready. For us, its the usual packing what we always have for our short trips.
I went to wipe the car and discovered that I need to fill the pressure in the wheels and puts some petrol (my car is a petrol car Suzuki - SX4). Its already 11.00 am the time we started from our house after loading the car with all packed stuffs. We also remembered that we didn't have the breakfast. While going to the petrol pump, I ordered some breakfast (Idly and Dosa) in a hotel and asked him to pack the things. In the mean time I filled the car with petrol in the station and then took the packed breakfast and started out journey.
Went through Ramurthynagar (Bangalore) to connect NH4 (Kolar road). This  is the traffic free road to join Kolar raod, which join very near to Hoskotey (it will be around 15 kms from that point). So in 1 hour we reached Kolar. Roads are very nice. My speed was 100-120 km/hr. We reached Kolar around 1 pm and then without stopping moved forward. To my surprise the roads are so good that we crossed Mulabagal and then stopped in a hotel for lunch. We had nice lunch and then freshed up. We started there from 2.00 pm and then drived towards Chennai. Around 5.30pm I reached Chennai, but I made a mistake in getting the correct route. Instead of taking Poonamalai Highway, I took the Poonamalai road and then I was not able to find the correct route.
I asked many people for the correct route. Here people are good to support, but many are there who will willingly direct to you to wrong destination if you don't know Tamil (a language spoken in Tamil Nadu). Hearing that I felt that being in India, I am not in my own country. I asked nearly 21 people for the correct route and 5 -6 of them guided me in the correct way. Auto rickshaw they are great people, they ride auto in entire Chennai but when routes are asked they simply say I don't know sir. I don't know why they make such a difference when you find a non-tamilian people.
Anyways around 7.00pm I reached the hotel, but unfortunately they do not have rooms. But they arranged the rooms in a different location which is very near to their hotel. We freshen up and went to Marina Beach. My daughter was very happy, but seems she was scared of sea. But in no time she was out of my lap and went to the sea for playing. She had nice rides and we spend time on eating the roadside food. It was a nice cool breeze and spend the time till night 10.00 pm. We came back to the hotel and slept. Next day morning (8th May 2011) we were ready and went JLN Indoor Stadium as my sister-in-law was competing there. We met and had our lunch together. We made many changes to the plan and finally we came out to check out from hotel and go for shopping. We went to Saravana Stores (10 storeyed bldg) for shopping. I know it will eat nearly 6 hrs time. It was true that we came out at 9.00 pm. We purchased few stuffs for all of us and then went for the dinner. While dinner my wife was telling it is too late now, can we stay and start early morning. I told her we can do that but whats the point. She was telling that she is not feeling safe to go in nights and that too with family.
Even I gave a second thought and booked a non a/c room in the same hotel (but not paid anything). Its around 10.45 pm and we were moving towards hotel, I don't know what clicked my mind and said I will drive in night. Lets take the risk. I called the hotel for cancellation and I started driving. This time I followed Nh46/NH7 road to reach Bangalore. I found that I am in Bangalore and time is just 3.00 AM. SO it took 4 hrs only. Then I slept and thats the entire fun of my weekend with my daughter and wife.
Not able to take too many photos but here are few:
