Team Outing to Club Cabana

This team outing has happened on May 18, 2011.

This time we thought that lets go to some place and relax ourselves as our team has done lot of hard work for a certain release and lets have fun. Ultimately we short listed "Club Cabana" in Yelankha, Bangalore.
We booked the bus from 7.00 AM and to our surprise the bus has reached before us. The driver was nice guy and he told us, take your time. Then we took few stuffs from office and after all the team members were present we started from our office at 7.30 AM. Once we were in the bus, we first created 3 teams and we named the team. My team name was Warriors. The other two teams were Blue Boxer and Challengers. All we are copy cat (IPL). So we thought lets play a cricket match in the team outing.

As soon as we reached (9.00 AM)  we were given bands. Then we reached the reception and we were given 1 tetra pack juice but I think the monkey were the invitees too. They even had the tetra pack juice. Anyways we were all hungry and moved for the breakfast. Food was not bad but not good also. It was bread, butter, jam with omlet and chole baturey with tea/coffee. Eating area was clean but just beside the area one small pool was there where we were able to locate small fish. But that was too dirty. Anyways fish makes dirty.

After breakfast, we went towards bowling at 10.00 am. It seems to be costly there. They were allowing us to play only 5 frames and actually bowling is a 10 frame game. We paid them extra for another 5 frame of game. Anyways, its time for Warrior to win again as we are born'd winners :).

As per plan we then moved towards to play out door games and believe it or not its time for PPL (Payerpath Premier League). It was two teams and we played best of 3. Again our team won both the matches so no point of playing 3rd match. The we wanted to relax, but in a different way. It was called to create a longest rope, collecting whatever things we have with us. Time limit was 3 mins and it was real fun. Again the born'd winner won this.
In this heat people like to play beach volleyball, but we made it playground volleyball. After 2 sets it was really tiresome and only we 8 were playing there. So we thought to close it and hang around before having the lunch.
We were so my dehydrated that many of us were not able to have good lunch. Everything was very little, again the food taste was not worthy.

Then we relaxed ourselves and went for the slides. The water was too dirty, no instructors but we have experience sliders in our team who instructed us. Then we moved ahead with the wave pool. While we went to the wave pool, the waves has just started, but seeing one thing (a street dog drinking water from the pool) has made me and Peter thinking that next time we will avoid club cabana. Lazy river was under maintainance, so nothing use for us. Anand, Suman and Seetharam who joined Rathna in the hard drinks party and rest of us moved to the Jacuzzi, but again the shortfall, not steam water, its a normal water. But we played waterfold games.
Its time to to get wrapped everything and have a high tea i,e tea with Pakoda. It time to leave now, its 6.30 pm. Everyone were at office before 8.00 pm, so it was good. Overall good team outing but going back to same resort - NO

Few points on Club Cabana
1. Food taste not good - normal food.
2. Water extremely dirty
3. Dogs drinking water from the wave pool
4. Jacuzzi - not so good
5. Slides - no instructor
6. Bowling area is very bad. The lanes are not good.
7. For out door games they have good area.
8. Bands should not be lost.

Enjoy the photos:

Team Outing to Anandadhama

This team outing has happened on September 2010 in Anandadhama, Bangalore.

On Sep 2010, we visited (22 people) this place for a team outing. It is around 120 Km from Bangalore (Domlur). It took us around 3 hrs to reach there with 1 break (30 min). Around 2 kms there is ghat section and the roads are quite good after the rain. Be careful and slow while driving because you will be passing through lot of villages. If any doubt for the route ask for Mekedatu.
Before entering to Mekedatu you will find one sign board to take right turn and from there the retreat is another 2.5 km. This is the place where you have to pay the jungle charges also.
Once we reached there we were welcome through welcome drink (jal jeera) and we were given 2 cottages made of bamboo and hay. Nice cool place but if you are used to fans and ac then probably you will not like it.
Then they gave us the briefing and we went for jungle trekking. We crossed Om Hill where we found good scenery and then went to river cauvery for swiming. We all were enjoying the heat and the river water. Suddenly, one of our friend (Anand Yadavrao) who pretended that he knows swimming and he tried to swim in the current of the river. Suddenly he lost control and he was drowning. Other friends tried to help him to come to the bank but could not and he himself got hurt in the stones. Seeing his facial expression the people from Anandadhama - expert swimmers saved him. We thank God for that. Then we came to know that if you are swimmer in swimming pool then you cannot swim in river. You need some expert training(from village people - who can be better expert than them?). Around lunch time 1.30 PM we came from the river and through there Gurukul (nice place to see where 60 students are studying) we went to the resort and got ready for the lunch. It was a good vegeterian lunch. (non-Veg people - this is purely vegeterian resort).
Then they took us for all their activities like Archery, Tarzan Jump, Beam Balancing. Free Fall, Ditch jumping. In evening they took us for  cocrale boat driving to river Cauvery where we tried to locate some crocodiles but it was not in our luck to see them. But again we enjoyed the sun set there and the birds chirping. Its time for our high tea and snacks and got ready for the return journey. Overall it was a very good place and we all enjoyed. The place is very clean with no plastics. Spa is also available. We reached to our office Domlur around 9.00 pm and its time for relax.

Coromondel Coast of Bay of Bengal - Madras (Chennai - Weekend Trip)

It was Friday (6th May, 2011) evening, went to my friends house for a dinner party. Return home around 11.30 pm and my wife and me were thinking that shall we go somewhere this weekend. Its being long that we have not been anywhere. But to go some place we need the reason for that and we do not have any reason to visit someplace other than weekend gateways.
The next morning (7th May 2011) with the sunlight our mind also got opened up. We had a reason to visit Chennai in such a warm whether. The reason was my sister-in-law- was competing for Junior Chess Championship in Chennai. They have came all along from Bhubaneswar. We thought lets go there and book the room in their hotel and spend some time with them. So it is decided now (but its already 9.30 am). Anyways, we started cooking the food for my daughter, packed the milk. Her stuff was ready. For us, its the usual packing what we always have for our short trips.
I went to wipe the car and discovered that I need to fill the pressure in the wheels and puts some petrol (my car is a petrol car Suzuki - SX4). Its already 11.00 am the time we started from our house after loading the car with all packed stuffs. We also remembered that we didn't have the breakfast. While going to the petrol pump, I ordered some breakfast (Idly and Dosa) in a hotel and asked him to pack the things. In the mean time I filled the car with petrol in the station and then took the packed breakfast and started out journey.
Went through Ramurthynagar (Bangalore) to connect NH4 (Kolar road). This  is the traffic free road to join Kolar raod, which join very near to Hoskotey (it will be around 15 kms from that point). So in 1 hour we reached Kolar. Roads are very nice. My speed was 100-120 km/hr. We reached Kolar around 1 pm and then without stopping moved forward. To my surprise the roads are so good that we crossed Mulabagal and then stopped in a hotel for lunch. We had nice lunch and then freshed up. We started there from 2.00 pm and then drived towards Chennai. Around 5.30pm I reached Chennai, but I made a mistake in getting the correct route. Instead of taking Poonamalai Highway, I took the Poonamalai road and then I was not able to find the correct route.
I asked many people for the correct route. Here people are good to support, but many are there who will willingly direct to you to wrong destination if you don't know Tamil (a language spoken in Tamil Nadu). Hearing that I felt that being in India, I am not in my own country. I asked nearly 21 people for the correct route and 5 -6 of them guided me in the correct way. Auto rickshaw they are great people, they ride auto in entire Chennai but when routes are asked they simply say I don't know sir. I don't know why they make such a difference when you find a non-tamilian people.
Anyways around 7.00pm I reached the hotel, but unfortunately they do not have rooms. But they arranged the rooms in a different location which is very near to their hotel. We freshen up and went to Marina Beach. My daughter was very happy, but seems she was scared of sea. But in no time she was out of my lap and went to the sea for playing. She had nice rides and we spend time on eating the roadside food. It was a nice cool breeze and spend the time till night 10.00 pm. We came back to the hotel and slept. Next day morning (8th May 2011) we were ready and went JLN Indoor Stadium as my sister-in-law was competing there. We met and had our lunch together. We made many changes to the plan and finally we came out to check out from hotel and go for shopping. We went to Saravana Stores (10 storeyed bldg) for shopping. I know it will eat nearly 6 hrs time. It was true that we came out at 9.00 pm. We purchased few stuffs for all of us and then went for the dinner. While dinner my wife was telling it is too late now, can we stay and start early morning. I told her we can do that but whats the point. She was telling that she is not feeling safe to go in nights and that too with family.
Even I gave a second thought and booked a non a/c room in the same hotel (but not paid anything). Its around 10.45 pm and we were moving towards hotel, I don't know what clicked my mind and said I will drive in night. Lets take the risk. I called the hotel for cancellation and I started driving. This time I followed Nh46/NH7 road to reach Bangalore. I found that I am in Bangalore and time is just 3.00 AM. SO it took 4 hrs only. Then I slept and thats the entire fun of my weekend with my daughter and wife.
Not able to take too many photos but here are few:
